First and foremost, Haute Couture is a big difference from luxury shopping making both lists inaccurate. Houston has been hampered by space where Dallas has had basically two. In talking to 10 stores in Houston and not in Dallas, and vice versa, all said it was mostly a case OS space in Houston and location in Dallas. But, all agreed that in 5 years both will truly be equal. They also pretty much agreed that there will always be one in Dallas that's not in Houston and v.v. But with Houston's now having virtually the same number of Billionaires, and far more Millionaires, if Texas were not the only State with two large, wealthy income population bases competing against each other AND costing each store more than the spend in any single state, except for NY (because of the cost of rent), one big city between Chitown and LA, would have probably the best shopping outside Tokyo, London or NYC/LA.

So, this battle rages on as it will always will because there will always be two different cities that have to vie with each boutique for which test city comes first and then, if successful, open a second location in the next city. Even that varies. One thought though, Sakes is closing in Dallas, in moving and increasing in size in the Houston Galleria explosion. And, the one Houston N-M store' Women's Haute Couture Departents, outsells any one of the ones in Dallas, with Northpark being the only one that really counts.

But, there are pluses for Dallas, too. THE BEST THING OF ALL IS THAT IF YOU NEED AN ORIGINAL OdlRenta, where Dallas has a boutique and Houston doesn't, all one has to do is hop their Gulfstream and be at Love Field in less than an hour, AND V.V.

This listing is very, very false. The fact the shops are in any location do not make them haute couture. But, when comparing one city to another, there are about 5 different--Dallas has some Houston does not, and some Houston has that Dallas does not.

But, by the time Galleria is demolished, the new areas rebuilt as well as part of the garage, Simon will have built more room for true Haute Couture boutiques--running scared of upscaling Highland Village, and River Oaks Place, and to a very small degree, Blvd. Place.
You're probably right about millionaires but I'm pretty sure DFW has more billionaires. The Forbes 400 just came out this week for example and I counted 22 DFW billionaires on their compared to 10 from Houston. Dallas alone has 15 on that list.

DFW does have 22.

It looks like Dallas Business Journal left out two and made an error. I'm sure their publicists will notify the proper personnel.

You should include Officine Panerai at NorthPark, Neiman Marcus, Lacoste, Swarovski in Plano. Not to mention Swarovski Frisco or Michael Kors Southlake.

Also, Nordstrom is planning a store in Southlake.

The Officine Panerai boutique is already listed at Northpark and the
list tries to only include stores in the cities proper.
