For those of us who were rocking the day music died, I present:

Jerry Naylor was born March 6, 1939, at Chalk Mountain, Erath County, Texas. Now a rock and roll artist and broadcaster and inspirational speaker, Jerry was the lead singer for The Crickets following the death of Buddy Holly.

Default Who was Buddy Holly's "Peggy Sue?"

It's somewhat rare that a musician's song is dedicated to one specific person but the 1957 song "Peggy Sue" by Buddy Holly and Jerry Allison was. It was written for Peggy Sue Gerron.
