I am considering a job located in Beaumont, TX, but the information I can find is pretty bleak. Based on research so far, it seems Lumberton is a nice, safe area for families with great outdoor/nature opportunities. However, the school options seem limited by the small size of the town. There are reports of bullying within the middle school on Greatschools and not a lot of private school options without driving into Beaumont. Just curious--for those who live there with children--what is it like? How are the schools (preschool and elementary are primary focus)? I don't mind small towns having spent time in them over the years and grown up in them, but I am having a difficult time getting a feel for what it is like to live in the Lumberton/Beaumont area.

Thanks!
