Oh no. My heart is breaking for the people of West, Texas. The news is saying that 60-70 people are dead and many others wounded, and that children are trapped in the burning apartment building.

This is just awful. Praying for my fellow Texans.

Commenters are joking about it on Huffington Post. I know they hate us in Texas but really? Ghastly.

Texas Explosion: Fatalities Reported In Blast At Fertilizer Plant (VIDEO)

Honestly - check out the comments under the article. Hatred for Texas from HuffPost readers is rampant and SO INAPPROPRIATE. Amazing just how crass some people can be.

WFAA is reporting that the first responders to the intial fire at the plant are reported missing.

Sad if there are people out there that are saying such things at a time like this and directing hatred towards Texas and Texans because of this event. Really? And typically what state sends the most help during times of need after an emergency anywhere in this country. Most likely Texas and Texans. They sure want our help and they sure want our products like what was being produced at this plant. Sad, sad.

Sometimes I want to hide under a rock during the second half of April. Deepwater Horizon, OKC, Columbine, Branch Davidians, now ricin, Boston and West, TX. All manner of bizarre happenings.

As T.S. Eliot wrote, "April is the cruelest month".

I feel so bad right. This explosion looks horrible.

What an awful week this has been (Boston, Texas, ricin, etc.)

This reminds me of the fall of 2001: 9/11, the plane crash in Queens, anthrax, Enron, etc.)
