I was really impressed with the Dallas World Aquarium.

I have only been to the Fort Worth Zoo, Sea World, Dallas World Aquarium, and the Wildlife Ranch. Out of those I liked the Aquarium the most and Wildlife Ranch would follow. I've never been to the Dallas Zoo but I have heard some good stuff from my wife.

In my opinion, the San Antonio Zoo is 2nd place to the San Diego zoo, which was plenty hot in March - and on a bunch of hills, so if you go the wrong way, you are tired by the end and skipping the animals as you trudge up a hill. The Dallas Zoo has a lot of hills too. The SA zoo is miles ahead of the Dallas Zoo. Never been to the Ft Worth Zoo, so can't compare that one. The Dallas World Aquarium is better than the aquarium in Corpus Christi, but not by much. The Fair Park Aquarium in Dallas is also pretty good considering its cheap price. Sea World (San Antonio) in my opinion is over-rated, I like the water rides there better than the animal exhibits - though I did get to pet Shamoo once, and disect a shark on a special school trip- those were much better than visiting the park as a regular guest.

I fully agree with your statement. I've never been to the San Antonio Zoo but from what I hear it has to be better than Sea World as far as animal exhibits go.

What someone else said -- from the Houston Zoo you can also walk to HMNS, which is great and one of the most visited in the country. Good permanent exhibits and nabs some really great traveling ones too.

The HMNS has, bar none, one of the greatest paleontology exhibits. We went right after it opened--AMAZING! (But don't think I'd advise walking there from the Zoo in the heat).

The museum is across the street from the zoo. It's just park between. It's a shaded walk.
