Hello everyone,

Thank you for taking the time to view my thread. I searched some other relevant threads regarding Orange, Tx, and I have to say that I am not too excitied about the area. I hope it ends up better.

My family and I are looking to rent an apartment for ~3 months while we house hunt. Are there any luxury/nice apartments in the Orange area? From my reserach, it is looking like I will have to commute from Beaumont to find something decent for the family. . It seems like Port Neches/Nederland is the area to be, but I cannot find any nice apartments.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you again.

There aren't any luxury apartments. A lot of the decent apartments took a nosedive after Ike flooded out a good portion of the middle class. Try Bridge City, too. I think there are some nice apartments near the Bridge City Community center, but not totally sure. Much better chances in BC even though it is much smaller.

I grew up in W. Orange and not Bridge City. Bridge City is still a nice community. Orange has taken some hard knocks lately. On the flip side, due to a philanthropist family, Orange does have some cultural attractions you would rarely find in a city it's size.

Seriously, if you have to come here, then do what you got to do, but there's nothing out here.

I see you have posted this a lot and consistent. Thank you for the reply.

Do you think we will be ok near Lumberton/Beaumont area or will we need to commute further west?

You may have a problem finding a three-month apartment rental. I suspect most will want at least a 6-month lease.

I grew up in Mauriceville and Bridge City. Nice, quiet towns that were safe for kids, and everyone knows everyone.

Are you worried about school districts? If not, there are a lot of apartments just south of Central Mall in Port Arthur (south of 365 and between the highway and Ninth Avenue).

You may want to contact an apartment locator in the area.

We are actually leaning towards the 9th avenue apartment complex. In a 4 month lease, we can save $2,053 versus the apartment complex in Beaumont. School district will not be a concern for the apartment complex, but will be a concern once we begin house shoping. Thank you for the input.
