Ted Cruz ACTS like an American, and he acts like he loves this country.

Can't say the same about some other politicians. It all goes back to how one was raised, and when I see anti-Americanism in our politicians--especially at the highest level--it just really ticks me off.

His Indonesian stepfather and his time in Indonesia definitely shaped some of his views. That's what makes the difference.

Cruz released his Birth Certificate right away.

Sen. Ted Cruz releases birth certificate

The difference in this case is that our current president did not release his for a very long time. Many people found that suspicious. Add in stuff like this, and it becomes food for the rumor mill.

'Born in Kenya': Obama's Literary Agent Misidentified His Birthplace in 1991 - ABC News

Quote:
Acton & Dystel, to showcase its roster of writers, Obama was "born in Kenya and raised in Indonesia and Hawaii."
Obama is an American citizen, but he is deeply scarred by his childhood and as a result, acts in flawed ways.

As for Cruz. Anyone who underestimates Ted Cruz does so at their peril. He is astonishingly intelligent and extremely capable. He is still deeply loved by both of his parents. Back when he first started his Senate race, I saw him walk into a hostile room with both skeptical GOP and hecklers and walk out with everyone on his side. Recently I saw him talk to Hispanic businessmen and he had them backing him by the end of it. I am skeptical of all politicians, but Cruz is very, very good.

Hardly "free" if you ask me. These fees essentially make the voter ID law into a de facto poll tax.
The source for what, LBJ's election fraud? Surely you jest.

Your "minority" travails is a red herring.

Here are the requirements to get a state-issued ID card:

They are free:

I'll repeat - to get SS benefits, they have to show ID, if they ever do banking business they have to show IDs. If they ever buy a gun from an FFL dealer or apply for a CHL, they have show an ID.

My points about ID stand. I will only support the voter ID law if aggressive efforts are made to ensure that every adult voter who wants an ID has the opportunity to get one, free of all charges if necessary.

You also forgeting he spent most of his school years in an American state, also during that time he was being raised by his American mother and here American parents. How does Obama not act like an American might I ask?

Do you really want to get into that here? Ok, just for starters....

His open disrespect for our flag is just absolutely out there--no hand over the heart for him. I mean, really....the PRESIDENT? It's easy enough to find that photo and article, too, so I'm not going to link it here.

Ted Cruz is--obviously--not the president of the United States, either.

No, you're still not getting the ironclad logic of it.

Born in another country to an American citizen mother and grow up in the USA and become a black liberal, you can't be president.

Born in another country to an American citizen mother and grow up in the USA and become a white conservative, it's OK.

The only relevant criteria is to worship Ayn Rand, who was born in Russia and raised and educated in the Soviet Union.

Voter ID will have an impact on many families with elderly parents/grandparents. My grandmother hasn't driven in 10 years, and doesn't have a current ID. She is in poor health, and it's not right that she has to go wait in a line for hours to get a new ID. The lawmakers are too focused on a problem that doesn't exist (wide spread voter fraud), and don't see how this will effect some of the most vulerable people.

Guess you've forgotten how Colin Powell was treated by the black "leadership" (IE: Congressional Black Caucus, Jesse Jackson, Sharpton, etc.) when he was being considered the frontrunner for the republican nomination in 1996 before his wife nixed it.

He wasn't "black enough" and didn't have the "American black experience" they said - even though both parents were working class blacks from Jamaica, he was born, raised & educated entirely in New York City, served with distinction in the US Army during the Vietnam War, and was a respected major player in US military/security in high government positions.

Versus Obama's Indonesian background/education, spent his high school days in Hawaii, his affirmative action college days at Harvard (Kinda like Shrub's), the "community organizer" in a totally corrupt Chicago political machine, and a half-term junior senator who had a bad habit of voting "present".

Yeah, Obama has had a real African-American experience & background.

A pity though, how different it could've been if Powell's wife hadn't been so insecure.
