Agreed! The biggest difference that comes to mind for me is what do you prefer to avoid:

colder winters = Dallas,

higher humidity = Houston

I am more comfortable with cooler temperatures and lower humidity so I would choose Dallas.

Thanks everyone for the input!!! Probably best to give more info.. I'm 34 years and work I the medical field I have lots of knowledge and I'm perusing a RN degree,, My husband is in the culinary industry and is 41..!!! Our children are 18 she will be graduation and will be entering college. My son is 12 and I have twins that are 11 the twins really need to be in a good school because they have some delays!!! I have a 6 year old and a baby.. I can pay up to 1500 in rent but just comfortable at 1200!!! We really can get jobs in other Houston or Dallas... We will start applying once we get a better feel of which city is best.. We need some a place with low crime, good school district, lots of activities for kids!!! We enjoy Vegas but the school system sucks!!! We really enjoy the activities they have the boys like pee wee football, going to outside markets, and fairs!!!! We are looking for the best city to eventually buy a home and settle in???..... Thanks for everything

I personally think Houston will offer the most for the culinary and medical fields.
