If they extended 130 down to I-37, near about Three Rivers then there would be a great quick way to get to the coast and I would definitely use it.

Toll revenue from the current section is not meeting expectations. I doubt the concessionaire who built 130 has much interest in building more highway anytime soon.

As I understand it, the hogs are mostly nocturnal. You won't see them much from the highway during the day.

No, it's pretty safe during the day. I drive the Toll nearly every day. There are people who drive 85+ on it, but for the most part, as long as you at least stay at 70 (and in the middle or right lanes) then you will be just fine. The way that some of the exits are designed, however, some people do need to be in the left lane, such as where the Waco/Austin split is near Pflugerville.

Yes, hogs are mostly nocturnal...ive hunted them and we only saw them at night and dusk.

I have driven it a few times. Yes, you can drive 85 plus on that thing.

I personally hit unmentionable speeds there and sustained them for quite some time. I suggest a good strong car (high hp / high displacement engine) and very good tires.

BOttomline: Doing 90 on 85 is no different than doing 80-85 in 65 (which we all do once in a while)..

Hate left exits for that reason. Move over in the last 1/2 mile.

I've only taken it once. Easily one of the most boring stretches of road in the state.

35 may be a hassle, but atleast your eyes get to stay busy.

I-35 is an eyesore, but maybe you Houstonians like that type of thing. SH130 is very pastoral and scenic to me.

I have to agree. There's plenty to see on 130, but you have to be able to see it.
