Dallas - Daily
Fort Worth - Daily
Houston - about once a year
San Antonio - same as Houston
Austin - same as Houston
El Paso - every couple of years

Outside of these cities I go to NW Arkansas, Oklahoma 3-4 times a year.

I go to Austin about four times a year and San Antonio once a year. I've only been to Dallas twice in my lifetime.

The same can be said about Houston, since GH is close to the same size in land area as DFW,. But you're right, Dallas and Ft Worth are the furthest away from the other 3.

I live in the Houston area, I travel to San Antonio every other week for business purposes and my wife's family lives there so we do some visiting as well. I probably travel to Dallas every 3 or 4 weeks for business. I also regularly travel to El Paso, San Angelo, CC, and a few other cities in TX.

Outside of work related reasons, I dont know that Houston and Dallas interact all that much.

I think Dallas and DFW are much more an island unto themselves.
Lets see:

While living in Waco:

Dallas: Constantly
Houston: Occasionly
Austin: Frequently
San Antonio: Rarely

While in Houston:
Dallas: Occasionally
Austin: Rarely
San Antonio: Never

This is all due to my family and stuff though.

I used to go to Austin once a month back when I was in grad school. I also used to go to Dallas 2-3 times a year when I had a close friend living there. I rarely go to San Antonio. Maybe once every 5 years.

Dallas is just so far away. There isn't anything there worth the drive. Austin and San Antonio actually have things there that interest me enough to make the long drive.

It depends on who you talk to. Of the three, Dallas is the only city I "frequent".

The cities in Texas aren't unique enough or, in the case of SA and Austin, important enough to frequent. I grew up in Houston. There's really no need to go to Dallas unless there's some special event because both cities are pretty similar in terms of amenities. San Antonio is only good for a quick and cheap vacation. I can't think of a reason to visit Austin to be honest. I haven't been there in a good 8 years or so.

False. Houston is the only city of those 4 that's located near the coast. And before you criticize the coastal areas. Many people from all over TX frequent the area. So save it.
