SAN ANTONIO — A Hollywood production company is hoping to strike gold on Texans with rags to riches stories and “overnight millionaires” from the Eagle Ford Shale oil boom.

Instead of a series about a phoney-baloney JR-type in what is a phoney-baloney oil city, maybe we get to see the real deal from the Eagle Ford Shale.

That sounds interesting--they are starting several "reality" shows in Texas now. There's that one on the marshals in Houston, & I know they are filming one for TNT about Life Flight at Memorial Hermann in Houston.

There was one called Black Gold. I watched it a few times. I don't think I was in it's target demographic though, it had a bunch of roughnecks who looked liked tatooed body builders.

Is that the one that had Matthew McConaughey's brother in it? Named Turkey or Rooster or something similarly silly?

I was referring to an over night millionaire show for the Permian Basin when I made that comment not a roughneck show,,,,sorry I did not mean to confuse you but I have heard of Black Gold.

Youtube has a ton of videos about "life in the oil patches" of both N. Dakota and Texas. Some are donated by people actually living the experience, so there is a lot of "reality" to them. Especially bone chilling (pardon my punning) are the videos of what N. Dak (Willington, for example) is like in the harshness of winter.
