Is a seller required to disclose any issues they have had with the water company that pertains to having to have another water meter installed? We bought a house that has a small guest house. After we closed and went to fill out our membership at the water company, we were told by the water company that they have went round and round with the sellers about a new water meter being installed. So long story short they knew what needed to be done but did not tell us anything about it. The water company has alot of paperwork proving they (seller) knew about the new meter. When we asked for more time(from the company) to get all the water lines ran, they said they thought there was a law passed sometime in 2008 that the seller had to disclose this info. These sellers did not transfer their membership to us so we had to pay the higher membership fee. Please advise!
