I lived in Houston before for 2 years. The worst time of my life. People loved cowboys outfits I couldn't stand. It has no design industry. I moved to Dallas and never looked back.

His view on Dallas is stuck in the 80's, while the city has changed dramatically since then. Old-school Dallasites aren't the majority or even the face of Dallas in 2017. And Highland Park is middle class?

Heer said Atlanta, Denver and Houston jump to mind as regions that have robust talent attraction strategies.
"Houston has one that they launched maybe two or three years ago, when we were focused on corporate recruitment," she said. "Now, they're switching to corporate recruitment, but we're keeping our foot on the pedal and adding talent attraction."
Sounds like desperation to attract Millennials instead of middle-aged, mid-career family people to Dallas. They just realized that in 20 years (not a long time), they will reach retirement age and grey out the metro.

Definitely did not visit The Galleria! The only cowboys outfits [sic] I can find in Houston is the Dallas Cowboys store in Katy Mills Mall.
