Has the Houston Galleria ever had a Warhol displayed?
The two Gallerias aren’t comparable though. If anything the Galleria can compare to the Memorial Mall. Dallas has the NorthPark Mall to compare to the Galleria. And Highland Park village to compare to River Oaks. Whoever compares the Galleria to the Dallas Galleria is confused.

The Dallas Galleria is still good for what it is. Houstonians point out and compare the two because they feel like theres no room for debate....ignoring North Park Center.

Memorial City has Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Nordstrom, Tiffany & Co, etc?

Nope. Galleria Dallas is superior to Memorial. But they’re both about the third best malls.

I'm not sure what "NM is the HEB of Dallas" means. I rather like HEB in Houston, but it's not as fancy as their Central Markets stores. Of which DFW has 5 (I think) and we only have 1.

As you might guess, I'm a native Houstonian who also appreciates Dallas. My only complaint would be that Houston doesn't get enough credit from other Texans for the good things that it does have.

While we are including home grown luxury boutiques to the mix in these lists, we better include Johnny Dang & Co. From Beyoncé to Justin Bieber. Athletes. Actors. Only Texas based designer to have this. (Tom Ford is New York bases even though he’s from Texas).

Eataly is opening a Dallas location in NorthPark.
NorthPark is also getting some more high-end stores: Golden Goose, Dolce & Gabbana, Alexandre Birman, Isabel Marant and others.

Highland Park Village has some more stores coming online. Goyard being the first I’ve heard named so far.

Southlake Town Center is getting some more higher end brands like 7 for all Mankind and some others.

Dallas' version is an embarrassment. It's small, narrowly claustrophobic but high like the old Town & Country Mall.

I agree, Houston Galleria and NorthPark are the only comparables.

MCM is more like Stonebriar Centre. The drawing area is also the reason why there is no mall in Katy, but Katyites still are willing to drive 20 miles for a normal mall. The Galleria is way too close to MCM to support luxury stores in both malls, the Galleria luxury drawing area includes the inner city and southern half of Houston.

Nordstrom has gone downhill when they reduced their inventory. It looks nice in the newer, smaller stores (like The Woodlands), but the older, larger stores (like the Houston Galleria) look empty. They have almost left the housewares business. Can't wait for Bloomingdale's to arrive in Houston to fill that void!

DFW:
  1. NorthPark
  2. Galleria
  3. Stonebriar
  4. North East

Houston:
  1. Galleria
  2. MCM
  3. Woodlands
  4. First Colony

But honestly DFW is overmalled. Willow Bend isn't doing very well judging by the storefronts in the Macy's wing.

I'll have to remember to visit Eataly when I visit Century City on my next visit to L.A. I was about to visit CC on my last visit a couple years ago, but it was in the middle of that damn $1 billion renovation. It's so glitzy that the glitzy vibe can be seen through the photos on it's Google Maps review. Hopefully that $1 billion was well spent; not to disappoint. Visiting is such a priority that I will go directly to the renovated mall for lunch once I touch down at LAX!

Embarrassment?!!! Aren't you going a little too far? It is indeed smaller than the Houston one. But the Houston Galleria is not consistent in its look. It looks mix matched and confusing. Like they built 3 totally different malls right next each other and just thoughtlessly joined them together with some weird type of connection. The coolest thing about it is the newest wing with the ceiling fountain. Go read the reviews for Galleria Dallas. Probably 90% of people in general disagree with you. Its a VERY NICE mall.
