Toyota moving portion of U.S. headquarters to suburban Dallas - Houston Chronicle

Another business friendly move to Texas from overly regulated and taxed California.

This is excellent news for the DFW metro and the state of Texas as a whole!

Since they have a plant near San Antonio already that may facilitate further moves to the state.

Great news! Time for more jobs in the great state of Texas.

They need to start taxing people that are bringing "Liberalism" with them moving to Texas.

They actually are bringing additional jobs from other places. In addition to the Headquarters move from Torrance to the DFW metro, they are also moving jobs from both Kentucky and New York. Pretty much consolidating all North American non manufacturing functions in one location. See WSJ article link:

Congrats to Colin County.

I agree that it's good for the Dallas area, and it adds to the city's growing clout as a magnet for HQs of a diverse set of businesses. However, I don't see that it does anything for the rest of the state, except perhaps for those who want to make weak claims to bragging rights.

Torrance is mostly pretty nice, with a great climate. North Dallas is nice too, albeit with not as nice a climate. Hope the folks who move will find it a change for the better, overall.

Good for dfw. I thought they may go to san antonio with the plant already there, but CoCo is a great place for corporate relocations.

I think the vast majority of California transplants are generally happy with Texas & what it has to offer granted there are a few disgruntled ones, but that's to be expected anywhere you are.

I personally know of this couple from LA who could go back if they wanted to, but choose not to. They say life here in Texas is so much better than in Southern California.
