For starters: No. I don't drink on a daily, or even a regular basis. I do, however, have friends and family that visit from out of state. When a visitor asks for a "Long Island Iced Tea" or an Appletinni, or Bourbon & Water. ( Guess what?!? I might NOT have that on hand as my drink of choice is Chardonnay)
It would really be nice to be able to go to Specs or some other liquor store, (sorry...PACKAGE STORE) and purchase alcoholic beverages WITHOUT anyone's opinion or judgment on one's morals.
Finally, I like Texas, enjoy the people, the weather, and the relaxed attitude of the people. I DO NOT LIKE the idea of politicians legislating morals (religion) and as far as employees needing time off to spend with family and friends, how'bou this: ASK EMPLOYEES THEIR OPINION. "Would you rather get a fatter paycheck or spend time with dear ol' Aunt Frannie? Who happens to be deaf in one ear, can't hear out the other, is blind in one eye and doesn't even know your name?
Sorry to sound mean, but, hey...If you own a business, shouldn't YOU be able to remain open or shut down at YOUR discretion and NOT the lawmakers? I'm just asking...
Oh, yeah to AlfredB1979, I wasn't here, I was somewhere on the West Coast til I had a family member take ill and needed me.
Have a great day!

I'm not a super religious person, but I really don't care that a liquid drug is not allowed to be sold during certain days and certain hours.

And your friends and family from out of state just drop in with no notice and you have no idea what they like to drink? Also, when I'm asked if I'd like something to drink, my first question (and the question I'm asked if I make the offer) is "Sure, what do you have?" and I make my choice from that. It's only polite not to expect one's host, even family, to have an entire liquor store (or 24/7 access to one) ready to hand.

If they want to stay closed on Sunday they can, but there shouldn't be a law forcing them to.

Why can't liquor stores sell on Sunday morning?
Is the government making sure that nobody goes to church drunk?

What difference does it make? It's just another day?

Why should the government tell people when they can or can't buy alcohol?
Isn't that the definition of "big government"?

Ridiculous law and ridiculous that people see nothing wrong with it.....I'm not a heavy drinker but why the hell should someone else decide if I can or cannot get a bottle on Sunday?
