I'm on hold with the uber-efficient Licensing Division in corpus Christi. I'm just wondering if anybody knows the answer to this question.

Why don't you have a SSN?

I have a SSN. My question has to do with an unpaid out of state parking ticket that I received a few years back. After non payment, the hired collection agency was able to place these parking violations (2 of them) onto my credit report. Since the parking cop only has access to license tag number, I was uncertain how they were able to attach it to my credit report, which presumably requires a SSN. But then I realized that I had a license tag from that state at the time and perhaps I did supply it to them at one time.
Auto Division told me that they don't require a SSN for vehicle registration.

Unless you have a warrant or a violation of Texas' scofflaw law, no issues.
