TEXAS music rocks me.

Here's a good one. May be one y'all have heard but maybe a new version.

I like Texas music too and you're right, this is a good one. Put a steel guitar in there and you got me. For those who haven't seen The Texas Music Scene with Ray Benson, it's a good show.

Good thread.

EHS is my favorite band of all time. So freaking good and front man Matt Hillyer scores with everything he does. You should check out Matt the Cat Tri too.

Pantera, The Toadies, UGK, Lil Keke, ZZ Top, Cory Morrow, Robert Earl Keen, Roger Creager, Beyoncé, Waylon Jennings, George Strait, Slim Thug, Fat Pat.

No reason to limit Texas music specifically to Country or Americana/Red Dirt music. Plenty of talented musicians to come from this state. Some I don't care for (like Lyle Lovett) but different strokes for different folks.

Townes Van Zandt and Guy Clark are the best, James McMurtry is great too, as well as Ray Wylie Hubbard and Rodney Crowell.

Ryan Bingham lived in Texas for much of his life, but disavows it in interviews, probably because his childhood there was so rough.

Long before "Red Dirt" country was popular, Don Walser was king.

Nick Curran may have earned fame playing with the Fabulous Tbirds but I really like his old school rockabilly sound

Used to see these guys in the 90's, but not sure how to classify them. Pirates on acid has been used to describe them.

Great Eddie and the Hotrods cover by one of my favorite Austin punk bands from the 90's

This band was a must see during the glorious Blue Flamingo/ Red River scene in the 90's
