Most of the Brits I know typically live in Grapevine, the Las Colinas area of Irving or anywhere in north Dallas.

If you want to go to a newer developed place, try Mansfield. It's south of Fort Worth and right next to Arlington.

Default Places in Texas

I like Arlington, personally...if you're looking for someplace that is not too expensive but still nice. Las Colinas is very nice, but also very expensive.

I lived in Lewisville for a while and liked it very much. VERY good schools (I substituted there, so I would know).

Lived in Duncanville and didn't care for it. Too much crime, not great schools, and a lot of things getting run down. Right now living in Waco (no where near Arlington) and like it quite a bit. Less trafic, more laid back, but still a lot of culture and things to do because of Baylor University. But there are some very seedy parts of the city too.

Avoid Dallas, especially if you have children or plan to have children who will be attending the schools.

Austin is a great place to live, or so I've heard. Has a great night-life. Theres a saying "Keep Austin Weird"--it fits the city very well.

Beford is nice, I've lived there. Hurst, especially North Hurst is also nice.

I live in Mckinney and love it. We have a town square that is very unique with many little upscale shops and a theater district. There is a pub down there called the Londoner. LOL I like Mckinney because it has the old town and has some great neighborhoods too that are west such as stonebridge and the el dorado area. Much more better priced too than many areas around the metroplex.

Smile Move to the country!

If you like wide open spaces where you can have horses or other livestock - move to the country in northeast Texas. I would love to show you some areas around Caddo Mills, Royse City (both excellent school districts) or other surrounding areas. Let me know, we would love to have you here!!

I live Just outside Fort Worth in Crowley Texas..76036 I have a house for rent its 3 Bed 2 bath 3 years old. 1100 month..thats about the going rate around here..Apartments are rather pricy..so its better to rent a house or buy. House prices are about 130K to build a new home in this area. Around grapevine they are about 200K for an older home. Moderator cut: No ads please
