I'm originally from Dallas, and have been back and forth to visit family
on occasion.

I like it alot when there, but it is not as 'lively' for some reason,
as Chicago. It is very HIP here.

Houston has a good vibe, sorta like here, but different.
Can't put my finger on it.

I've also been to Houston many times, but never for recreational
purposes. Never had the chance.

Anyway, if I move to Houston, will it still be dull?

I actually like the areas immediately outside of Downtown Dallas,
because they are relatively similar to 'here' although
Dallas' downtown is not close to the liveliness of Chicago, Downtown.

That's why I like Dallas; it is just a little bit tamer. Just the right amount.

Whereas Houston feels a little too much like an old suburb when you get
outside of the Business district, Downtown.

I don't like that. I like something in-between.

And I don't want to be wayyyyy out there in the suburbs
either here, or in Dallas, Houston or San Antonio.

I don't have to move to Texas, but most of my family is there,
and I'm getting to that age where I need to start slowing down.

But not All the way.

Waco and Tyler are too cowboy-ish for my taste.
Closer to a CITY is what I prefer.

Why would I choose Houston over the DFW or Uptown area?

(I may be moving around this time next year)

Pick a forum, any forum.

You probably didn't mean to put this here, and I'm biased, but I don't think either Dallas or Houston even come remotely close to Chicago. Austin is where it's at if you must be in Texas (which, I admit, sounds a bit tempting after our last winter in Chicago).

Uh, there is no suburb called Glenville in the Chicago area. GlenVIEW, maybe, but not Glenville.

You are correct on both counts.

Dude, that is what me and my folks call it.
Sorry for the confusion.

(Glen+ "Ville" meaning "town", instead of saying "Glentown")

When mentioning this area, I always assume people know
what I'm talking about.

U'r so witty. Probaby why you won the $500. lol.

Hmm...I live in Chicago and have never heard anyone call it that. I also find no references online to it being called that using a Google search. It's interesting that you would ask a question on an internet forum using the name of a place that only you and your friends use rather than the name everyone else uses. Not as interesting as posting this in the relationships forum, but almost.

Yeah, I know. Austin is pretty cool. But very small.
If only it were HUGER

And actually, I LOVE the winters ! lol.

There's something about knowing you can go outside in the hard-core
snow, and still have the luxury of getting home to where it's safe and warm.

LOL. I feel like I'm in the wilderness when I go out in the snow.;
its like an adventure. !

I wonder how anyone else feels about the snow. I should ask.

Me and my 'folks'. Meaning my family. it's boring around here. Thus "ville".

And I didn't know I was in the relationship area. ahahhahahhaa! sorry about that.

You probbly had a world of relationship knowledge to bestow, huh?

I like how people tell me how to make my relationship better,
and don't even have someone of their own. LLOL !

(not saying U don't. I'm just saying. It's the 1st thing that came to my mind)

I'm gonna repost this in the moving area, or whatever.
Thanx for the $500 advice and analyzation(s).

ps... did u know we're getting the new George Lucas museum?

That's probbly for another section/area-place, right? LOL !

Heck, try Houston first. You don't like it, head north to Dallas and try it on for size. If it doesn't pan out, you can always head north again, back to Chi-Town.

Thanx.
I'm just worrying about the HEAT.
(not the Miami Heat. San Antonio took care of 'that' problem) lol !
