Hi guys,
I'll be moving to College Station from Pittsburgh soon.
My question is regarding car registration.

Can I buy and register a car in TX with valid Pennsylvania driver's license?
I'll need a car as soon as possible, and I won't be able to obtain TX driver's license that soon.

If yes, what will I need for that?
Also, do I need a valid car insurance at the time of registration?
Thanks a lot

Yes, Texas gives you 90 days to get your TXDL. You can purchase a vehicle without a DL for that matter.

You will need insurance at the time you go for your inspection, which you'll need prior to registering the vehicle. The OOS DL might be a hiccup for some carriers, but not many - at worst, they'll give you 30 days to get a TX DL.

If transferring a CDL class A from Georgia to TX, is a written or road test required?
Also, is a hotel address acceptable?

I plan to stay in a hotel for some time and have a mailing address at a UPS store…. will they take that address?
