Hello all,

I'm in my early 30's and looking to relocate to college station for a job (in a few weeks, sudden move..yikes). I have never visited the B/CS area before and looking for recommendations on places to live that's fairly quiet, not TOO many students. I know Aggieland is 58k strong so I know i'll have to bend a little. I'm from the WI area so the smaller town atmosphere doesn't really bother me. I've searched on collegestationrent.com and other places for apts. Thoughts?

Default Find anything?

Just read your post and wondering if you have any recommendations? I am moving to the area Nov 1. and am in just about the same situation as you. It appears everything nice is loaded with students. Don't really need that since I have to be up early for work everyday.

Just rent for a year in College Station (avoid Bryan). Spend your time driving around looking for where the natives live.
The 2 big crossroads in College Station are University (east-west) and Texas Avenue (north-south). Almost every chain can be found along there.

Rentals = students so it's going to take you some time to find rentals off the beaten path that don't cater to students.
The more upscale rentals will probably be more quieter.

You might try creating a new post in the Houston forum, or ask a Mod if they can move this to that forum. College Station is much more Houston oriented than Dallas. As in, aTm is taking on a somewhat a Houston commuter college relationship, having expanded the highway for that purpose.
