How is this even a contest? Houston by a long mile.

As far as the national scene goes Houston is up there with NYC, LA and San Francisco in cuisine. Only a hard core Austin zealot would choose Austin over Houston in that area.

I'm actually surprised Houston has such the large lead in the poll. I really thought San Antonio would get more votes from Texas posters. San Antonio's Mexican food is simply out of this world.

SA does indeed have the best Mexican food in the state, but Houston leads in all other international forms of cuisine, as well as having some of the best regional cuisine, like Cajun, Creole, barbecue, and soul food. Nothing against SA, but the restaurant scene there is kind of a one-trick pony. Some great steak houses, but mostly SA is just famous for it's Tex Mex.
