The 50 Funniest Cities in America : Humor Code

Ok, fellow Texans. I know this is just a stupid study conducted by some college kids, but what gives? This just doesn't make any sense. Six of the bottom 15 are Texas cities. That's just wrong.

Not surprised that the more liberal cities are seen as funnier than the more conservative ones.

I've heard several people say that they've known too many Texans who did not understand dry humor or sarcasm, so that may have something to do with it.

Our former governor seriously answered a question in a political debate with "Ooops!"

If that's not enough, then Carol Burnett was born in Texas. Mike Judge wasn't born here, but made his living here. Steve Martin was born here. The first guy to fart in a movie lives here.

Do we really need to keep going?

If we really need to be back on topic, then the list itself is more trying to measure of the consumption of funny material. And did they really need to divide comedy clubs per sq mile and comedians by population? I'll bet Clown College itself still rates far below a "1" on each of those...

Well, there is a difference between one liners, sight gags, and actually funny.

If that's the case, then no wonder my jokes are never received well!
