Being a transplant from Mass, this question is about as exciting as "I'm moving to Boston. Is everyone there really rude and mean?"

Answer to both: No.

You have railroads where you live? Around here we'd round them up and make them work in the fields.

With the exception of Houston which has quite a substantial Chinatown.

That is not to say that Houston is segregated BUT it does have a Chinatown.

Here is a thread that is asking about a Chinatown in Dallas. //www.city-data.com/forum/dalla...wn-dallas.html

It seems to be more spread out in Dallas. I have not seen one in Austin, SA and other large Texas cities.

I live in Mcallen which is largely Hispanic and I see some Asian people around town. I have not seen any discrimination against them.

There is a Chinatown in Richardson, a suburb just north of Dallas, but it is not equivelent to the one in LA or NYC, or other US cities. It's basically a single strip mall. Never been to the one in Houston, can't comment on that.

It's like 5-6 strip malls close together lol, but the food is phenomenal. I think in both cities there are culturally asian pockets that aren't part of their established 'Chinatown' as well.

In Austin you will be only allowed to wear tie-dye shirts at gunpoint and sent to our coffee shops and forced to be a barista. Attempt no landing here. Check Nevada, I hear they have absolutely not racism there.

WHERE in Texas are you moving? Likely fine in the big cities like Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston. Likely fine in College Station. Likely fine in Midland. I recall a relatively recent incident in Lubbock, at the university, but maybe things changed by now. I'd avoid Lubbock anyway.
