California is a different beast altogether. They absurdly champion their nimbyism and local activist governments. All it does is create havoc for their middle income earners. They're obsessed with this idea of "preserving" CA QOL, which I can understand but their rampant nimbyism is having adverse affects. It's all under the assumption that they're so desirable that they have preserve the state from the incoming hordes. I mean it's so delusional. They think the same about business, their mantra is they they're so desirable that they can dictate what kind of business they want in their state and if someone can't meet their demands some other business will. It's such bizarre and narcissistic logic to me.

That's how I've heard these NIMBYs talk at meetings and that both democrats and republicans. They think using third way avenues to halt development and limit supply of housing is conservative. And if you can't deal with the resulting chaos it creates then AZ is waiting for you. CA is so political it's nuts
