For anybody living in Texas or know about Texas, how much would I be expecting to pay for a two bedroom apartment? How about for a one bedroom apartment? I may be moving in with my uncle and his friend who live in Ft. Worth, maybe just a little bit outside of the city but maybe I may get my own place. I'm open to suggestions in other Texan cities. Preferably I would like to live with them for various reasons such as they would help me a little bit about getting to know the city, and my living expenses would be cheaper. If have to get my own place, I am looking for something that just gets the job done, but not something that looks like a dump. Something that is good/decent/average and well if I go, I am planning to live with like a roommate or two.

As I've said before in other message boards, I have a Bachelor's of Arts, I majored in International Relations with an emphasis on political and economic development and minored in Japanese. I also have a TESOL certification and I am also a certified online moderator. Some work experience includes working at Walmart in the produce department (still there), working at my University helping my professor correct other people's bibliographies and abstracts, work at a group homes assisting and helping mentally and/or physically handicapped people, Idaho Department of Fish & Game and fast food (McDonald's and Jack in the Box). Languages I speak are Spanish which is my native language (I'm Mexican), English (native speaker), Japanese, Mandarin Chinese and Portuguese. Even though Spanish and English are my strongest languages, I can speak the other three to an intermediate level.

I have been looking in google and it seems like all of the jobs are in Dallas, in Fort Worth, and well even then, for being a LARGE metroplex, I haven't found much. Maybe I wasn't looking in the right places, what kind of jobs do you think would be good for me there?

I already tried applying for many jobs there but haven't heard from them. What are some jobs you think I could get?

Thank You, any help would be appreciated.

I think the question is what interests you? I mean with all those language skills I would be looking everywhere not just Texas or DFW area. Are you a U.S. citizen? Why not submitt to the state department maybe you can get a job with the foreign service?

Whoa! Damn, girl what's up with this? I'm guessing if you worked at Whataburger, you might refuse to serve a soldier. I hope I'm wrong, but what an odd remark about the military.

If I spoke all those languages, I would be at the state department or some other government office demanding high pay for my skill set.

However, your list of current and previous jobs don't show much ambition, so not sure what you can do.

You're telling us a good deal about your qualifications, but you haven't told us what kind of job you want or that you think you'd be happy with.

Just going off your skill set, I imagine you could find something in Austin (it is the seat of Texas government after all) unless you're dead set on DFW. If your intention is public sector, maybe find an internship or job revolving around the Capitol or other state agencies. If private sector, I'd expect there to be a high concentration of lobbying firms and other related fields located here. But again, I'm not sure what you're looking for in a career.

workintexas.com has pretty good job listings. You might think about working as a translator or interpreter. Since you have both Spanish and Mandarin that means you speak the top 3 main languages spoken by people in the U.S. I quickly looked it up and it looks like they are openings for court interpreters around the state. You would have a leg up in these since you have the main one needed, Spanish, but have several more as a side benefit when they are needed. It can be very difficult for the courts to find qualified people for non Spanish translation.
