It's that time of the year! Cellphones down, heads up, no texting.

Those of you in Northeast Texas fall color started. The last two days I've noticed a definite change in leaf colors in the more wooded areas inside the city limits of Tyler, older areas, with hardwood trees.

Timely for me, while I'll by driving 25 miles Northeast out into the county each day for next two weeks tending to a friends pets while he is in Europe.

I hope you will take note and enjoy the fall color. Best to you.

I wonder what exact effect drought conditions have on fall foliage. In 2011 I recall a vibrant (but late) fall color show in much of Northeast Texas, despite the horrible summer of that year.

It's peaking here in north Texas. So amazing, especially since I am from Florida! I love it!

Well there's been anything but a drought this year. Plenty of snow followed by a stormy spring and early summer.

Much of Texas did in fact experience some late summer drought conditions this year, including North Texas.

Fall has arrived here in northeast Texas and no sign of drought here, that's for sure. Can't wait to see what colors the cold snap this coming weekend brings out!
