East Texas is a great place to live! If you like to fish...you have found your place. There are so many lakes that you will spend the first year here...just trying to fish on all of them. When we first moved here 6 months ago we called a tv repairman and he told us he would be out Monday...unless the fishing was good...then it would be Tuesday.
Here are some sites....

The lakes are wonderful. I have house at Lake O the Pines and my family has been there since before the lake was built. Caddo is a natural lake and full of wonders to explore. Lake Fork is known for its bass and there are other lakes nearby. They have biker days at Jefferson every year which I hear is fun, if a little loud. Lotsa back roads for safe biking. As for the hospitals, there are 2 and they are pretty good. They have a very good doctors for the retired and elderly sets of folks since there is a large component of folks thee that fall into that category. My grandmother's doctors have all been very good. In addition Tyler and the big medical center there is not too far away if you need even more advanced care.
