Houston is bad, Dallas is worse (all the SUVs are entitled there), Austin not too bad. Then there is UNpredictable! Come to Lubbock and see for yourself! I am all for bicycles only.

I lived in Houston for a while-the drivers WERE fast, aggressive-but actually, pretty skilled, lol.

The worst day in Houston traffic was NOTHING compared with Los Angeles freeways (lived there in the 90's)--I mean, absolutely ANGELs on Texas roads when compared with L. A..

I mention that so we can remember everything's relative. :P

Atlanta is by far worse than any of the traffic I've seen in Dallas or Houston. But in my travels through the DFW area, the worst drivers are along 360. There has not been a rush hour where I was not pasted by some idiot in the emergency lane.

I have seen them all from Miami to Houston. I lived in Houston I left because of traffic. Rush hour at 10 pm and a road always be working on too. As some people have said here everyone is not from Houston or been in there traffic before. Houston is the worst for texas. Stay off 290. Stay home when it rains that 20 min drive will turn into 2 hours. Oh and the toll road that another story. Just open a checking account for that as you will spend money thru the roof on it. I love Texas as a true Texan I left and now am coming back home to Dallas. and ask people about 1-10 road work that been taken place.

That's because you lived way up in Cypress and used 290... one of the worst commutes anyone could pick for Houston. Instead of leaving the city just based on that, you should have moved to an area with a better commute and better road.

What is going on with the 1-10? You should tell us so we don't get into trouble going through there when we move there.

This is what I love about this forum. We can always get the information we need from you all.

Thanks so much

AUSTIN is the worst with no comparison. Those people use their vehicles as weapons. The democrats should take all cars out of Austin. Then there would be no murders.

just forget about all them big cities and stick with the smaller ones where folks still have respect for others and good ole Texas hospitality.....for example, Lubbock, Amarillo, San Angelo, Abilene, Big Spring, Wichita Falls, etc etc

Driving in Dallas, Austin, and Houston doesn't bother me. I guess I easily adapt to the drivers around me. However, I have a severe motion sickness problem, especially as a pessenger. My husband has learned over the years how to drive easy to keep me from getting sick. Therefore, I never get carsick while he is driving in Dallas, Houston, or San Antonio. For some reason though, Austin is an exception. No matter how careful he is in Austin, I always in up "jet-lagged" before we arrive at our destination. This must say something about the drivers around us since he constantly has to hit the brakes. I guess I need to drive while we're in Austin from now on.
