It isn't only Texas that is looked down on, but Texas is so proud of its less than stellar qualities. It's kind of part of its charm.
You could show some sort of proof. How much time have you spent in Texas? Like I mentioned before, the vast majority of Texans I know have pride as a result of the rest of the nation constantly attacking it. I don't see what qualities exactly you ate talking about either; you mentioned it's employee's rights being a joke but you could be more specific about that.

Texas is not collectively looked down on though. What would you know from Alaska anyway? As if you know how the rest of the country in general feel about Texans or how Texans view themselves. It's a difference between propaganda and reality. Maybe you should stop digesting this information from these platforms and get a small smidget of reality via personal experience. I'm living in Georgia right now and when I tell people where i'm from majority of the time they don't have anything negative to say about Texas and those who have been for the most part have many positive things to say about the state.

Well, I don't really think the nation is "obsessed" with Texas. Of course we Texans certainly are!

Free people are not equal. Equal people are not free.

Especially in Massachusetts. People in Maine are really nice. M*******s are not.

Not ancient history, either. There are high school kids older than that murder, so it's obviously fresh on the minds of a lot of people.
