You want speed traps try going between lake Charles and Alexandria Louisiana without getting a ticket. They make texas look good.

The city police on U.S. 84 at Muleshoe, Texas are terrible for handing out tickets in town. Not surprisingly this is also one of the very few Texas counties that still has the 1950s style county property tax on newer POVs.

Also, try pulling an out-of-state trailer through the Sweetwater area on I-20.

Riesel on HWY 6 is terrible too. The police there were about to arrest an old woman who couldn't mow her lawn.

This is anither thing I like about California. CHP are only on the right of the road so you only gotta look there. In Texas you have to scan the entire road because they hide everywhere.

Let me be the first 'law-and-order' type to state the obvious... they're not gonna get you in a speed trap if you're not speeding to begin with.

No surprise to see Estelline on the list. Easily the most notorious speedtrap in Texas.

I was quite surprised to see that the following were NOT on the list:
Driscoll - coming into town on US 77 from either direction.
Menard - coming into town heading northbound on US 83 (coming from Junction).

And I'd like to add as a dishonorable mention:
all the communities that leave their school zone lights flashing all day long, and/or when school is not in session

And if you are speeding, you haven't been "trapped" - you've suffered the predictable consequences of your own actions. (Greek, I know, to some.)

And let me respond with something equally obvious to everyone but you & TexasHorseLady: what about those law enforcement agencies with malfunctioning (but they don't know it or claim not to know it) equipment & inappropriately low speed limits for the design & conditions of the road. You know when you see it! They all feel the same.
