So, now the Lone Star State is a swamp of crazy? lol Well, according to the sitting president, it seems so. But of course, he was only "joking". Uh huh, right. Yep, really funny alright and they have the gall to say conservatives are trying to divide the country. This, after they toss out name calling such as deplorables and land of swamp crazy. Talk about driving a wedge through the country, they should be ashamed.

But to keep this in the Texas forum and not become a political thing to be moved into the politics forum, what do Texans think? Do you think we are a "swamp of crazy" or not?

Let's put what he was talking about into context, shall we? He was referring to the tinfoil-hat-wearing Jade Helm wackadoodles and their enablers like Greg Abbott. In that context I think it was a pretty fitting metaphor.

It fits the media narrative. Shall we say all of Oregon are a swamp of crazy because of the situation that happened there? Or tarnish Vermont because of the Vermont separatists? Texas is just a bigger state where this crap happens.

Exactly. Context is everything.

And we do have our swamp of crazy, and our deplorables (some of whom have sat in the Governor's office for WAY too long, even though that's supposed to be where we put the politicians we don't want to give any power but they just will not shut up and go away). It's just, as another poster said, that Texas is bigger.

The sitting Prez is not fond of Texas - we win too many lawsuits against him. I don't think he's been anywhere much in the State except for High Dollar Fund Raising Parties ...... so, he's got a point.
He's actually been in the Swamp of Crazy in Texas.

For HellPaso - I dug down into the recent poll that claims Texas is probably going for Hillary.
Oddly enough - they only polled Houston, Austin/San Antonio, Rio Grande Valley, Dallas and El Paso.
The shocker was which of those Dark Blue areas had the highest rating for Trump -
Trump +12 in El Paso.

Most unusual Election cycle of my Lifetime. 18 more days
