I believe that liberals are conned into believing that all conservatives are homophobic. We are as open minded as any liberal, because we are about Liberty and Freedom. Meaning it isn’t our business how anyone lives, just as long as they do not push to make it the law of the land.

It seems that the issue isn’t about being gay, but more about just not pushing laws etc that effect everyone else. Rights are rights, but when you consciously move to an area where the communities don’t always believe what you believe, trying to force change on them is the real issue.

Austin is a case in point. It is a truly liberal city due to so many moving there, although I don’t believe to many laws have been contested to be changed.

Si in my opinion it’s not so much about who you choose to be married or otherwise to, but more about political views and opinions.

Unfortunately this is what our country has come to and the Democratic Party is really dividing all of us by label8ng conservatives as homophobic, racist, etc. when the huge majority of conservatives, are far from what they want everyone to believe.

Thanks

The problem with your attitude is that the laws passed for gay rights are there to protect LGBTQ residents. Without that legal protection they have little recourse if they harassed or discriminated against. They aren't doing it to be difficult; they are doing it to protect themselves. Do you even know who Matthew Shepard is? These laws are passed to prevent what happened to him from happening again.

Lol, the Republican Party’s record on gay rights is nothing short of overwhelmingly damning. It’s in the national GOP platform that they still want to overturn my right to a family. They aren’t content to oppose adding orientation to the list of protected classes (i.e. race, religion, etc.), which wouldn’t necessarily be damning itself. But Republicans actually want to pass legislation saying the right to discriminate is part of the First Amendment.

Gay dude, grew up in Lubbock. People like you are lying through your teeth.

Ah, he’s just giving you the old “<real> conservatives don’t this and don’t do that” nonsense. Were I to believe these jaspers there are no real conservatives.

Anyway, even if real conservatives aren’t racist, homophobic, classist etc. (though they make no bones about being classist) they’re only too willing to pander to those who are to get votes. So what’s the difference?
