it just dawned on me the other day..i have lived here since October, and am from North Texas (between Wichita Falls and Ft Worth) and spent last year (the year from hell...i call it my "hell tour" in South Texas....

Yikes, I hate those things. Actually, you will find a few here and there in the Central Texas area with that Barnett Shale thing going on. Of course, it's nothing like of which you speak.

We have some here around Abilene, Belle. And a lot of the NEW Texas symbol -- wind turbines, LOL. Be proud to know that Texas now has THE largest wind farms in the country!

We live less than three hours from Bellestar here in Abilene. I drive through the Lampasas, Copperas Cove, Killeen area frequently. Last week, I was in that area less than three hours after I left Abilene.
