5.0-5.8 earthquakes are not insignificant. 12 in a span of less than a year isnt insignificant. Property owners paying large property taxes on homes with terribly damaged foundations which repairs wont be covered under insurance and who have permanently damaged resale value on their homes arent happy.
Still no links regarding this sort of earthquake activity and actual damages in Texas?

A 4.8 magnitude earthquake hit southern Texas, about 47 miles (76 kilometers) outside San Antonio, at 7:24 a.m. local time (8:24 a.m. EDT) yesterday (Oct. 20 [2011]). The epicenter of the quake was close to Fashing, Texas, a natural gas and oil mining town.

Caruso said it was the largest earthquake they have ever recorded in Texas,
Prior to that, the largest was an estimated (not measured) 5.8 earthquake in 1931.

In the last three years, there appears to have been 3 quakes with a magnitude of between 4.0 and 4.3, but nothing bigger. One of the 4.0s was in Sanderson, Texas (near Big Bend), hundreds of miles from any fracking.

The biggest one (4.3) was near Timpson, and while it may or may not have been caused by fracking, earthquakes have been happening there for a long time:

Timpson earthquakes are latest in longterm pattern - KTBS.com - Shreveport, LA News, Weather and Sports

(note the article says it was a 4.7, but it was later corrected to 4.3).

That's why surface ponds will only work in arid areas. So great for Utah, West Texas, Oklahoma, & Colorado, etc... where the evaporation rates are high.

In places like OH or PA the weather is too cold and rainy so not only with the ponds never evaporate but rain events can overflow them.

There should not be any reinjection in OK though where most of the quakes are.
