Is it just me, or has the number of aggressive drivers on Texas roads increased over the past year? It seems like a great portion of drivers go 15+ miles over the speed limit, swerve in and out of lanes, etc. This applies in both cities and country/rural roads. What do y'all think?

To me it seems it has gotten worse. People are always in a hurry.

Since I've been back for the bowl and over xmas break, I've noticed Houston drivers are just aggressive as hell on the road. Just mean, impatient and ready to run your butt down if you're in their way.

I've been hit twice during the past 12 months. This past summer I was rear ended on I-20 by someone was following way too close at a point in the freeway where it often slows down for no discernable reason and this past November I was hit by a hit and run driver. Luckily my son was able to write their license plate number on his homework before the driver sped away along with a vehicle description so we could file a police report. My insurance is currently going after the driver of the truck.

It is either terrible luck or you can't drive.

If you have someone following that close then move over and don't risk it.

Many of the aggressive drivers I see on my daily commute in the SATX area, doing things like speeding, making abrupt lane changes with no signal, brake checking, have a common trait. They are transplants. Sure, there are some native Texans, and long term transplants that drive like idiots, it's a big state, and not immune from it's own crop of lunatics. However, the majority I see either have out of state plates, or will have TX plates, but an out of state dealer plate frame.

Have German auto manufacturers started making turn signals optional as well? Every day, in and around the Dominion out past Ralph Fair Rd, to Fair Oaks Parkway, the vast majority of the Mercedes, BMW, and Audi drivers do not seem to have the turn signal option on their cars. Nothing like sitting at an intersection, or waiting to turn out of a parking lot, only to have the car you've been waiting on turn in next to you with no signal. The same drivers also seem to think it's the responsibility of traffic already on the Interstate to yield to them entering the roadway from the on ramp.
