Is this someone to be proud of? This is the best we can send to Congress? Political leanings are irrelevant. A moron is a moron.
My God. When I look at things like this the first thing I wonder is whether he really thinks that way, if he is really that stupid, or if he is pandering to constituents who are complete morons. Either way, it's not good.

Of course I doubt he is REALLY afraid of being shot since there all all kinds of ways to prevent that at an event.

He just doesn't have the courage to face anyone who might fire some questions about his lockstep allegiance to McConnell, Ryan and Trump...which is really more cowardly than having to face real bullets...

Even the people who voted for him might think he looked a little chicken in that news clip...
Not me.

Correctamundo my good friend! I think many of the complainers on this forum are just mad they
have not received their rent-a-mob checks from George Soros yet!

No...not really...
I am not like Trump...
I don't need or expect everyone to agree with my point of view to believe I am right...
In a democracy that is what happens--you have an open discussion of opposing points of view on topics...

I knew going in that Texas is a very conservative state...
I see how my neighbors vote every time there is an election...
I have seen them vote into the state legislature a man who believes that marital rape does not exist--
That a woman married to a man basically becomes his chattel--to do with as he wants...
So why would I expect that every response to my post would agree with me and see Gohmert as worthy of ridicule for his avoidance of open town halls????

I grew up in small, central Texas town where I had part time job in high school at a local road construction company--owned by one of the county commissioners who were the guys who decided who got the contracts to build/repair roads...so you knew he was a "good ol' boy" who operated within the power hierarchy...

I can remember the time he came into the office and was so happy that Medgar Evers, the black political activist, had been shot outside his home...My boss thought that was the way you dealt with uppity n------.
I knew then and at other times that I was swimming in a different river than most of the people around me.
Nothing's changed really...

Seems that Texas does have more than its share of idjits & bigots. And it's true a lot of them seem to gravitate towards the political arena.
