I love this statement. I just don't get why people think its okay for illegals to break the law. You know in some countries if you cross their borders you get shot, no questions asked.

I just don't think its fair for an illegal to get more rights than a person who is an American citizen. Americans should get welfare first over illegals. I see nothing wrong with asking about a person immigration status. I'm sorry but American citizens should get an education first than giving illegals free handouts while American citizens can't get the same.
Illegal immigrants don't qualify for welfare. Where are you getting that idea?

you really think these illegals don't talk - don't know to screw and cheat the system? Only citizens are that smart - come on you can't be that plain stupid

We don't want that here, which is why we want would-be immigrants to go though a vetting process.

Wrong, because:
1. States are not chartered by the federal govt.
2. Amendment X to the United States Constitution.
3. Federalism.

Their U.S. born children do qualify for welfare. That's how illegal immigrants, even though they themselves are technically ineligible, get welfare. And that's also part of the reason why you see such a high birth rate among illegals in this country (and immigrants in general). And since money is fungible, and the benefits are paid directly to the parents (i.e. illegals) not to the children, it's not correct to say that illegals don't get welfare. It's coming into the household because of their children.

Welfare Use by Immigrant Households with Children: A Look at Cash, Medicaid, Housing, and Food Programs
Quote:
We estimate that 52 percent of households with children headed by legal immigrants used at least one welfare program in 2009, compared to 71 percent for illegal immigrant households with children. Illegal immigrants generally receive benefits on behalf of their U.S.-born children.

Illegal immigrant households with children primarily use food assistance and Medicaid, making almost no use of cash or housing assistance. In contrast, legal immigrant households tend to have relatively high use rates for every type of program.
In addition, certain states, like California, actually provide benefits directly to illegal immigrant children as well. They recently allowed all persons under the age of 19 to enroll in their free Medicaid program.

Medi-Cal will soon cover children in the U.S. illegally. The real battle? Getting adults insured

It's pretty easy to see how illegal immigrants make it, if you live in a largely immigrant neighborhood. There are cheap community clinics all over my largely immigrant neighborhood in the Los Angeles SFV. They accept all the federal as well as state sponsored health care assistance. There are entire WIC stores where they mostly or only accept federal taxpayer funds. Yes, they're private nutritional centers for families, grocery chains basically, which on the surface are a good thing but then you find out that they're immune from market forces since most of their revenue is from the federal government in the form of govt vouchers.

So most of the time the immigrants rely on the federal and state social services to take care of the kids and the food in the house, while the father gets a phony SS card at MacArthur Park, commits identity fraud and gets a job to pay for the rent.

I mean I don't get why liberals want to continue to let people basically subsist like this. And then they have the cojones to tell conservatives to change the laws to favor them, legalize them and make it easier for others to come in, OR let the illegal aliens already here continue to live on the margins of society. Why do they want a permanent underclass of sub-citizens in this country? That just seems cruel.

That is not the topic here - Austin's scofflaw habits are.

Correct - The states "chartered" the federal government.
