Who remembers when the area between San Antonio and Austin (and Austin to Georgetown) consisted of small(ish) towns with rural spaces between them?

It wasn't THAT long ago.

It wasn’t like it is now when I moved from San Antonio to Austin in 2015.

The expansion and urbanization really happened in the last 10-15 years.

The development was beginning just S. of Austin when I moved out of area in 2008.

Returned a few months ago. It's a whole different beast. But also makes sense: 2 massively growing cities, I-35 access, scenic Hill Country. I'm hella bias but central TX is pretty nice place to be

I wonder what it will be like in another 10-15 years?

It will be people wanting to live in Austin but unable to afford it living in San Antonio but claiming they’re from Austin.

In 10-15 years even San Antonio might be to pricey.

It's pretty crazy how much it's developed over the last 5-10 years. I think the only undeveloped area between the two is between Koehlenberg Road in NB and the outlets in San Marcos. Even then it looks like development is creeping into that area. I wonder if it'll ever be a recognized CSA like DC/Baltimore.

I don't know but I'm willing to bet that eventually there will be no gaps in development between San Antonio and Temple or maybe even Waco.
