Subforums on City-Data are created when there are enough threads and posts about a place to justify giving it its own forum. Apparently, there haven't been enough threads and posts about Amarillo to meet that requirement. Maybe if you entertained the Senior Moderators with steaks at The Big Texan, they'd change their minds?

Sure "they" could combine. Now, reality is, very few threads are started in the General Section, general defined, with questions on other areas of the state without a sub-forum that are specific questions ON Amarillo. Sure a few questions every once in a while, but not nearly as much as many other areas of the state with far MORE question, Waco, Midland-Odessa, for example, that also don't have a sub-forum.

That should clearly answer your, why? Hope so.

Administrator (who owns the place) is no longer willing to start regional forums. Now, either a city gets a forum or its posts need to go in the state forum.

Make it a "Panhandle" or "West Texas" subsection with Lubbock, Amarillo, Midland/Odessa, and San Angelo, maybe?

Who cares about Amarillo?

It's a small city that is very flat, very boring, and very far from the Texas triangle area.

With the exception of Palo Duro Canyon, the area around the city itself is flat grassland for as far as the eye can see.

You obviously have never truly driven around Amarillo. It is not actually flat, far from it. These comments from drive-by commentators...how are they helpful?
