I have started a new batch for our SPring, and the first seed has just sprouted today.

Cheers.
Lucky you!! You can send me bluebonnet pics, any time!! Love them! Hopefully, I'll have some Missouri pics to send back!! (My little patch is just getting going..)

It depends on the area. The drought has definitely made a difference in this area. There are parts of town that traditionally have a bumper crop of bluebonnets that now have almost no flowers.

I've heard that there are almost none along I-35 between here and Laredo due to the drought conditions. When I was driving to and from Galveston a couple of weeks ago, where it has been wetter in recent months, I saw many patches of bluebonnets.

Well, as I've mentioned before, they tore out the ones along I-30 in Arlington due to new road construction for access to the new stadium but the route I travel to work now has patches! Yay! They're blooming along the George Bush Turnpike in Las Colinas. So I'm happy about that.

The photo below is not in Texas as Lupines are quite prevalent in many other states. This one if from California.

As long as you have dry summers, kangaroo paws will do fine. They don't like humidity. I am growing my first lot of various species of roo paws - will post pics when they start blooming from September onwards. Wouldn't it be grouse if both the kangaroo paws and bluebonnets bloom at the same time in September(spring)!
