I've driven through a few times, but have never spent much time there. I know it's part of the DFW metroplex, but it's just a little bit too far outside of Dallas and Fort Worth to be considered a suburb.

Is it pretty much a college town with its own vibe, or does it feel like more of a city that just happens to be home to two colleges?
Is the cost of living lower than most other places in DFW?
Is it bike friendly?

A little of both. Yes, the two colleges have a definite impact on Denton, but there are lots of people who live there that don’t have ties to the colleges.

Downtown Denton has a great music scene (UNT’s music school!) and fun restaurants.

I wouldn’t say it’s any more bike friendly than any other city in north Texas. Same with the cost of living since college students keep demand up for housing rentals.
