Does anyone know the name of a restaurant in Bandera with an upper level dining area? I ate there once when passing through. I didn't want to stop because I didn't feel well, and have always wondered about it since. It was on the main highway near the center of town. We stopped there on the way back from Lost Maples Park heading towards San Antonio.

It's probably been over ten years ago, so I don't even know if it's still there. But thanks for any information.

I don't recall the name, but IIRC, it burned several years ago.

I tried to find it on maps where I remembered it being and didn't see anything resembling the building. That's sad to hear.

I found a 2009 news story about the Old Spanish Trail restaurant burning down. There is another restaurant still there called "OST" restaurant. I wonder if it's the same place rebuilt in a new location? It was on the Daytripper yesterday and it showed a lot of the same kind of old west rustic interior that I remember.

The OST is in the same spot before the fire...been there forever.
OP is probably thinking of the Frontier Hotel and the Purple Cow Saloon that burned in 2012.
My ex was a waitress there back in the early '80's.

I miss Harvey's restaurant that used to occupy the old bank building on Main street. Best made from scratch breakfast anywhere. Used to ride up there to eat every sunday morning.
It burned too. Lot of fires up there...

Really.

The place I remember was, if you were coming in from San Antonio, right after you turned off of the Main street near the square, turned right onto that highway leading out of town (to go towards Lost Maples), it was on the left.
