Anyone know what property taxes are in Haslet Texas. We have heard that property taxes in TX are almost as bad as in FL.
Thanks.

My Mom just bought a house in Saginaw and it looked like it was about 3.2%. She is in a brand new home so it isn't pinned down, plus she is over 65 so it will be lower for her.

Here is the link to the Tarrant County Appraisal District. http://www.tad.org/WebPages/2006_tax_rates.htm

From my calculations it looks like around 2.4%, but I would look at it just to make sure. Actually just looked and Haslet looks like it falls in the Northwest ISD rather than Eagle Mtn.-Saginaw.

Property taxes also go down somewhat if you are 65 as they give you a break on them since you don't have any kids in school. Also they don't increase every other years.

Not sure about Florida, but in Texas there aren't any income taxes so for a lot of people moving in from other states, it can be an offset or trade off.

Hope this helps!
