Your post brought back a memory of when I was stationed in Oklahoma while I was in the service many years ago.
I ask one of the locals if the wind always blew in Oklahoma.
He said yes it did and asked if I wanted to know why.
I said I guess so and he said it's because Texas sucks and Arkansas blows and we are right betweem them.
I hadn't thought of that in years.
Now before all you people in Texas and Arkansas get all riled up, I didn't say that. Some guy in Oklahoma said it 42 years ago.

FUNNY! But I was not a happy camper for a moment.

My husband was in Altus, Oklahoma with the air force and he'll never forget that wind.

WE actually saw some of Texas here in Hot Springs last year.....the red dust blew in for a few days and it was not pretty. This time last year if I'm not mistaken

Why is the Oklahoma State Motto, "Oklahoma is OK"? Because they couldn't spell "mediocre".

A friend of mine from Colorado and I were once discussing Oklahoma and he said to me "you know what the best thing about Oklahoma is? It keeps Texas from touching Colorado."

I reminded him that Colorado (as well as New Mexico and Oklahoma) was just a part of Texas that we didn't want anymore.
