I’ve always loved the weather in Lubbock. Not specifically the panhandle but close.

I had a friend in college whose parents lived on the edge of Amarillo. We would go up there 5-6 times a year. I loved the weather. Cool evenings and lots of sunshine.

Her father was a seed salesman who took me around his sales area near Dalhart. I'd never seen so much corn. Miles and miles of center-pivot systems. Fascinating area.

Not sure about further north into the Panhandle, but sure do love the weather around Lubbock! Warm days, cool mornings and evenings and low humidity. The fall is especially great!

Too dry in climate, cold in winter, and prone to severe thunderstorms with hail/tornadoes. No thanks.

Sucking water out of the Oglalla Aquifer faster than it can be replaced. Could the Panhandle become a desert?

I like the weather in the northern panhandle (north of Amarillo). I like it sunny but not too hot. The 4 seasons are nice. I could also see myself living in a place that is even colder than the TX panhandle and not overpopulated.
