I just wanted to get a few suggestions. We are making the move to San Antonio in January. We are driving from California and want to space out the driving time and stay different places along the way (it will also help out my little dog that gets car sick!) So here is the plan:

Starting from Anaheim, CA we are going to Tempe, AZ for the night. Then the next day we will drive to Alamogordo,NM. Now the next day, although it is a 9 hour drive to San Antonio...we still want one more stop for the night.

Where is a good place to stop and stay the night between El Paso and San Antonio.

Thanks!

I'm moving from Garden Grove! Hoping for a nice drive too.
Your plan sounds like a good one. We won't be going quite as far
as San Anotinio, pretty close though. Same route!

Good luck to you. So far, I think I'm going to love everything about
TX.

Well, honestly there isn't anything between El Paso and San Antonio unless you want to camp somewhere

Would stay in Ft Stockton. Doubtful that you would find a place along side of the road cause its empty that way/ ( I am in SA) and Junction just seems to close (if I got there I would try to drive on into town)

Fort Stockton. If you have time you can visit the MacDonald Observatory.

Thanks for all the advice! Fort Stockton it is! We are nervous but excited about the move. It is really scary leaving a place and the people you have known all your life, but I think it is the right decision for us. Hope to make some great friends in Texas.

Default Made the move and don't regret it

Hi there,
We moved from OC to a town northwest of Dallas, 18 months ago and love it.
The transition is hard leaving behind friends, so I suggest you have free long distance.

Getting involved is the most important thing. You will love San Antonio
