Canton is right up the road from me! I don't hear people from outside this area mention it much.

I had a friend in the Air Force who was stationed in Del Rio for a while. I lived there for about 3 months. I remember it being 120 F in April. Couldn't get out of there fast enough back to the northwest.

I was stationed at Ft. Hood from Feb 74 - Jun 74. The weather was actually not bad. Just hated on post life. There wasn't much to do on post and going into town didn't offer much either. The worst posting of my six year army career.

I hated living on Fort Hood. BLECH. But at least it's close-ish to Austin and all that.
