Is it just flat and windy farmland? Any woods, lakes, hills or minor mountains?
I do lot of cycling and driving through flat farmlands is not so thrilling.

Yes, West Texas is flat & dry.

Don't expect any more than a glorified dessert.

Not really. If woods, lakes, hills, and mountains are something you want then look elsewhere, maybe New Mexico.

Hi

Yes Odessa is flat, if you go south close to Fort Stockton or farther West you will get some Mountains but they are a was away. All the Forests are in East Texas

When I lived there as a kid I had to walk backwards to school because of the sand storms.

Oh yeah? Well I had to walk barefoot 10 miles through six feet of snow, uphill both ways.

OK, you got me on the uphill part, there are no hills in Odessa.. But my trip was 15 miles each way and I had to fight off the six foot rattlers.. And sometimes them dang Texas Jackalopes can just be down right mean.
